Changemaker Scholars

The Changemaker Scholars program recognizes students who are ready to turn their University of Utah experience into meaningful impact. Designed for students living at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter, this scholarship supports a residential community of curious, connected, and action-oriented students committed to building a more prosperous world.

Changemaker Scholars may receive a $1,000 housing scholarship for the 2027–28 academic year, paid in two $500 installments at the end of each semester based on their participation in the program. Along the way, Scholars will enhance their college experience by engaging with the ideas and opportunities that make the Epicenter unique.

To qualify, Scholars will:

  • Submit an application and be selected as a Changemaker Scholar.
  • Live at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter.
  • Attend at least five approved Epicenter programs each semester. No more than two events per month may count toward the five-event requirement.
  • Submit a brief reflection paper at the end of each semester exploring how their experiences shaped their thinking, goals, relationships, or approach to creating positive change.

Eligible programming may include conversations with bestselling authors and leading experts; career-development workshops; networking and leadership opportunities; service experiences; and Epicenter social events. Programs are presented by Prosperity U, often in partnership with Interfaith U, and the Sorenson Impact Institute.

Changemaker Scholars are more than residents of the Epicenter. They help shape the community by showing up, getting involved, meeting new people, and putting what they learn into practice.
