Find answers to common questions about living at the Epicenter. Housing policies and timelines are managed with University of Utah Housing & Residential Education and may change by academic year.
Who can live at the Epicenter?
The Epicenter is available to admitted University of Utah students. Housing options serve first-year, upper-division, and graduate students, although availability varies by room type and selection period.
Do I need to be in a specific major?
No. Epicenter residents represent majors and interests from across the university.
Are disability accommodations available?
Students may request housing accommodations through the University of Utah Center for Disability and Access. Submit requests by the applicable deadline so the university has time to review and coordinate available accommodations.
How do I request a room change?
Room changes are handled by Housing & Dining Programs. Requests depend on availability and generally cannot be fulfilled during the first two weeks of a semester.
Can first-year students live in an apartment?
University policy does not prohibit first-year students from selecting a four- or eight-bedroom apartment, but these units are often filled during upper-division room selection.
Is a meal plan required?
Residents in traditional single and double rooms are required to purchase a meal plan. Apartment and Endcap Community residents have full kitchen access and are not currently required to purchase one. Confirm requirements with Housing & Residential Education for your contract year.
Is parking available?
Parking is available near the Epicenter, including accessible spaces. A space is not guaranteed, and University of Utah parking rules, permits, and fees apply.
